SQF 8.1 Gap Assessments

Sirocco Food and Wine Consulting offers 2-day Gap Assessments to help food manufacturers prepare for their certification audit. The gap assessment comprises a document review of your existing food safety system against the SQF Food Safety Code, Manufacturing. System element procedures, registers, schedules and records are evaluated by a SQF and PCQI-approved food safety expert. The assessment also includes a site audit to ensure that the Module 11 requirements are practiced and documented.

Are You SQF 8.1 Compliant?

The SQF Food Safety code was recently revised. Is your food safety management system compliant with the SQF Code Edition 8.1? Did you complete your food fraud vulnerability assessment and have controls in place? If your product is ready-to-eat (RTE) and exposed to the environment, have you developed an hygienic zoning map of your facility? Does the facility or equipment require upgrading? Have you implemented an Environment Monitoring Program (EMP) for primary pathogen control areas?

The gap assessment is a good validation step to fast track the certification process. Assessments include a full report with actionable items. We prepare your team for the audit by interviewing your employees on the SQF code requirements as well as on HACCP, Preventive controls and GMP principles. Your SQF management team will also benefit from a debriefing session during which all non-conformities or (“gaps”) are identified, and explained including steps to correct them.
